Milwaukee MW102 pH meter for sale

Milwaukee MW102 pH meter well taken care of. Purchased Dec 2015. I use this to check mash pH and also check pH of my sour beers. I replaced the pH probe October 2017 and it has only been used once since. The probe has been stored in storage solution at all times. I'm selling because I'm...

Dec 17 BYO response to Mash pH questions

There was quite a storm in the new BYO that just dropped regarding mash pH measurements. Specifically weather the ideal mash pH is 5.2 - 5.6 @ mash temp or room temp. Starting on pg 21. It seems Ashton Lewis (Mr. Wizard) feels this ideal pH range refers to measurements taken mash temp and...

Electric Recirc BIAB. Mash temp stability

I have a 10G Blichmann w/ boil coil controlled by a kal type clone. I'm recirculating my mash w/ the temp probe on the outlet of the kettle. Doing BIAB as mentioned in the title. I've been using this system for about a year now and I'm generally happy. The one issue I have is mash temp...

    Golden promise malt

Finding conflicting info on the interwebs. Does wort from golden promise need to be boiled 90 min?

    Yeast harvesting question

I harvested this yeast from a starter I made. Obviously there is not as much yeast here as I wanted. When I go to reuse this in a 5 gallon < 1.060 batch I assume I'll have to step this up rather than make a traditional starter. For those of you with experience, is that correct?

    wyeast 2565 sulfur smell

I recently brewed an American Wheat Ale with wyeast 2565 Kölsch. Never used that strain before. I racked this to the keg a few days ago and I've noticed what I believe to be a sulfur smell to the beer. It tastes fine but the aroma is not pleasing. Any of you have the same experience and is...

    Refractometer and final gravity

I usually use a refractometer to determine when fermentation is done. Not for an accurate FG reading just to monitor fermentation. I figure if fermentation is done the reading (even if wrong due to alcohol) should stay constant correct? Just want to make sure this is correct.

To blindly go where no man has gone before. Using Bru'n Water

Just wanted to see if you guys are using bru'n water without a pH meter? I attempted to adjust water today for the first time. I think things turned out okay. My mash eff was about 80% (BIAB). I used RO water from one of those machines. My TDM meter said the water was @ 5ppm so that's...

    Periodically inspection of control panel.

I recently assembled a control panel. Have the PID tuned up and am ready for my first brew eBIAB. My question to you guys/gals is do you open your control panel and inspect for loose connection etc... from time to time?

    Acid addition, DI water

Kinda a noob question. Want to start working with DI water for a base. Never done it. I BIAB 5 gal batches full boil no sparge. I used the pale ale profile from Bru'n Water and not surprisingly my mash pH is high probably from the full volume mash. My question is do I just add either...

Temp sensor placement in a tee

Just curious, does it matter which port of a tee fitting you place the temp sensor in. For example if I wanted to direct flow 90 degrees could I put the temp sensor at the end off the tee without any issues?

10 vs 15 gallon ebiab kettle

Hey folks, I'm moving to eBIAB and am looking at a 10 vs 15 gallon kettles. I'm doing 5 gallon batches right now and will not do any larger in the foreseeable future. Really I'm looking to do more 2-3 gallon batches because I like more variety and I don't drink enough to keep up w/ my brewing...

Installing SS faucets inside of a fridge.

I will eventually build a kegerator when the time is right but for now I just have a couple kegs in a spare fridge that I don't want to drill holes in. Anyone have any good ideas of how to install 2 perlick ss faucets inside of the fridge. Maybe using a board or something? Just don't know...

Missed OG, can someone explain this

Brewed today, 1st all grain BIAB. Efficiency not what I hoped for. Crush probably wasn't fine enough but had LHBS mill grains twice. Anyway pre boil volulme was on but my gravity was 1.042 (estimated 1.045 beersmith) so I used BS2 calculator to add light DME to the wort to hit my pre boil...

BIAB 10 gallon cooler Beersmith mash profile

Gonna do my 1st BIAB. Gonna mash in a 10g cooler with bag because my kettle isn't large enough for full volume. Anyway, I'm trying hash out a mash profile in beersmith. I figure I can use the default beersmith BIAB mash profile with some adjustments for my equipment, i.e. set the mash tun...
