    Need apple wine help...

    Only my second time for making apple wine and did not notice this with first.. Had wine in primary for about 3 weeks and went to secondary and now there about 2 weeks. It is clearing nicely and nothing on the surface. BUT>>>it has very small bubbles rising that remind me of carbonated...

    wine or hard cider??

    I have some cider (and sugar) in the primary the has been bubbling for 3-4 weeks. It is slowing down. I was going to make it hard cider but now I am thinking about apple wine. Is the difference between wine and hard cider...in that the hard cider is carbonated and the wine is not...or am I...

    frozen apple juice??

    I press fresh apple juice in the fall and freeze it and thaw and drink. Was thinking about making hard cider from it.....would this thawed be ok??

    I was at my sons on Easter and he had a new keg of Busch lite beer on tap. I had a glass and I asked him what kind it was?? When he told me I said it "tasted kind of skunky"!! He didn't say much but I knew he was thinking I was becoming a "beer snob" since I started to drink good...

    I felt so stupid!!

    Was getting ready to bottle a batch of American Pale Ale... Put the priming sugar in the bottling bucket and did a couple other things and saw the liquid in the bucket and thought I had left some Star-San in the bucket so dumped it out then realized what I had done. Luckily I had another...

    Another "I'm happy post"...

    Opened my first properly carbed beer from my first ever brew. Tried it early and it wasn't there but gave it a full 3 weeks in the bottle and I am very Happy or even Hoppy..LOL It was a Brewers Best American Amber. I would have taken a picture but it wasn't in the glass that long!! :ban:

    One odd bottle in the batch??

    I bottled about a week ago and I have 1 bottle that has a small ring of foam/bubbles at the top level of the beer where it is filled to about an inch from the top. The rest of the bottles have nothing. Any reason why just the one bottle ....or should the rest be the that one??:confused...

    priming amount for less than 5 gal??

    Seems I end up with less than 5 gallon when it gets to be time to bottle. If I have 4 gallon do I add just 4/5 of the sugar for priming? Thanks, Lowell

    Gas cooker BTU's question...

    A local lumber supply has gas cookers on sale for $28.00 and it is rated at 50,000 btu's......is that suitable for boiling????

    Pelleted hops??

    I just bought a brewing kit yesterday and have my first question...so glad to have found this site!! The ingredient kit has pelleted hops...so do I put them right in the boil or put them in a muslin sack first and then into the boil? Thanks much, Lowell
