Dumb question...where does the two way manifold go?

OK...I know this a pretty dumb question...but I'm not sure of the answer. I have a one keg set up now....I KNOW I'm going to want to add a second keg soon, but using my single CO2 tank...where would the manifold go in relation to the system...in between the regulator and kegs? Thanks. Greg

    Who pours the whole bottle???

OK...I know there a little sediment at the bottom of every bottle...I usually try not to pour it all into my glass, but on occasion I've poured up every drop into the glass, not paying attention...but...really don't notice that big of a difference in taste. Maybe clouds the beer a little...

Hey guys, I have a small area that I'm looking to grow an ornamental Summer Shandy vine next summer...looking to grow in a half barrel (like in the garden center at Lowes) with poles (bamboo) for the vines... Can anyone suggest a good source for the hops vine? Also, I'm in upstate...

    "aroma" in my fermenting bucket...

I won't call it a smell, as it doesn't stink...it's just the smell of the last batch fermented in my bucket... Anyway, after washing (after bottling) the "aroma" is still there...I know (I think) the bucket is clean...but is it? I'll sanitize it before I use it again...but there smell is...

Do we "think" too much about brewing beer?

Topic for discussion...I mean, do we unnecessarily obsess over the minutia of beer making...temps, times, numbers, etc... I've not been brewing beer that long, so, I'm no expert by any means...I'm quite mindful of sanitation, but other than that, I find beer making to be quite easy...I guess...

Going to Ferment a 1 Gallon Batch in My Bottling Bucket...

OK...doing a 1 gallon extract kit of Dead Ringer IPA from NorthernBrewer...and since I've never done it, and want to see the results for myself...I'm going to do the fermentation in my bottling bucket... I KNOW there will be lot's of extra air space, but fermentation should take care of that...

Ferment 1 Gallon Batch in 5 Gallon Carboy?

Going to do a small 1 gallon batch of cream ale for my wife, and wondered if there would be any REAL issue of fermenting it in one of my 5 gallon glass carboys? Issues/concerns? Thanks! Greg

    Probably a REALLY dumb question...

Saturday is brew day! First batch... Will be doing my cooking outside on my propane burner... Does it make a difference to boil with the lid on or off? I don't want to risk any creepy crawlies adding extro protein to the wort! Seriously, does the lid, at any phase of the process make a...

OK...tell me if this sounds reasonable...

Getting ready to brew my first batch...I know I've got an extra step or so in here, that a proper carboy will fix, but I'm using the wine making equipment I already had on hand... 5 gallon batch: Brew wort. I realized my glass carboys are actually 5 gallon carboys, so it will not leave...

Question about pouring wort into fermenter..

OK...I would like to ferment in my glass carboy, but my question is: Should I pour the wort up in my fermenting/bottling bucket first and pitch my yeast (dry), then transfer it to the carboy (thinking this would allow for a little more aeriation and mix in the yeast)...OR Pour it directly...

Using my Wine Making Equipment to Start Brewing!

Hey guys! Have made wine for a number of years, but frankly, I'm not that good at it and I like to drink beer more. I've got fermenting buckets, 5 gal glass carboys, syphons, hydrometer, all the stuff. Also have large pots, propane burner (turkey fryer stuff...never fried a turkey)... I want...
