What is wrong with my wheat beers!?

Thanks for the replies. I try to keep my mash temp at about 67-69C. Fermentation temp is around 12C or so I'd reckon. As far as racking to secondary, I just find it easier for bottling later; didn't think it would affect the flavor or fullness of the beer that much. My other beers never seem to...

What is wrong with my wheat beers!?

Hi all, I've been brewing for several years now, but I have had very limited success with wheats. I love wheats, so I'd really like to correct this problem. I brew 17 liter batches, and I use about 2kg of wheat with 2kg of pale 2 row along with a few other grains for color/added abv. Always...

Yet another thread about racking to secondary vs. bottle conditioning

Thanks all, great input. I think I'll go ahead and just bottle this time, doesn't sound like there'll be as much to gain this time around with this particular beer from holding it in a secondary. Now I just have to find a few more bottles, lol

Yet another thread about racking to secondary vs. bottle conditioning

Hi all, There seem to be lots of information about this out there, but I was hoping for some opinions straight from experienced brewers. I'm drinking my first homebrew (and it's awesome!), and I have my second in the fermentor at the moment. It's a Black Rock Nut Brown Ale LME kit which I...

    Steeping Munich malt

Thanks again for all the great information everyone. Really nice to have so many more experienced brewers to help me out. Maybe I should make the push to all-grain sooner than I was planning.

    Steeping Munich malt

Thanks very much for the reply RM. I was under the impression that adding hops and boiling (even if not required) to a lme just increased the "freshness" of the beer, but apparently that isn't so. I'll keep your suggestions in mind so I don't end up with an exploding fermenter bucket again...

    Steeping Munich malt

Hey all, Great resource here and my first time posting. I'm a complete newb when it comes to brewing, just bottled my first batch the other day and I'm patiently (or at least trying to be patient) waiting to see how it turned out. I'm planning on doing a second batch soon but have a couple of...
