Innis & Gunn Clone- I'm Going for it!

exactly what matt said, not enough vanilla, im going to be adding vanilla beans to mine. I finished a chai beer recipe a few weeks ago with vanilla beans and it gave me a hint of a innis and gunn flavor. So I would really ease off on the oaking maybe 50 grams of chips soaked in bourbon.

    Hops Bags

To use or not to use, that is the question. I just finished bottling my first brew over the weekend and I noticed significant loss due to trub on the bottom of my carboy. Just wondering anyone who's had experience using both methods pitching hops with a bag or just directly into your wort if it...

Innis & Gunn Clone- I'm Going for it!

bottled yesterday the only regret is using the whiskey soaked oak chips, will have to do some experiments with something else, it was WAY too oakey/whiskey smelling, not a bad brew but not exactly what I was looking for. we'll see in a week or two how it feels after carbing.

    Multiple batch brew day

Well I completed my first brew last weekend and the brewing bug has bit. With warmer climates coming soon Id like to get a bunch of batches done for summer until I can save up for a freezer conversion to brew in the summer. Just wondering if I am brewing 2 different batches would it be ideal to...

not sure if headspace is an issue, but I just did my first AG brew today and as soon as my wort started to boil, boom massive overflow, so I may look into a bigger brew kettle, mine is 5.5 gal now.

    Brass or stainless?

I hear ya, I have a stainless ball valve and parts, but the owner at my LHBS gave me a kettle conversion kit even tho I asked for a cooler so the stainless nipple is smaller than what I need and I have tons of brass ones here at work but I wasn't sold on using the brass. Appreciate the input! :mug:
