+1 Home Brew Party. Everyone there has been super helpful. They even have scheduled noob classes that are free if you buy your kit from them. Even if you don't the class is well worth the couple of bucks they charge for it.
Typically on weekedays I will enjoy 1 with dinner or after dinner while reading HBT. On weekends I may have a few extras depending on what I am doing. Texas has a zero tolerance rule when carrying a gun so I tend to wait until I am in for the night before pouring a cold one.
If you have a choice, I would bottle it before moving it. If not, I would do whatever I could to minimize agitating the beer. The beer in the carboy should have a layer of CO2 over it so that would help.
