For Sale Grainfather, Keezer and much more. (NW Ohio)

Looking to offload my stuff. I haven't had time to use it in the last 4years. It's been sitting in the basement so I'd recommend a thorough cleaning. Some flexibility in price. Ideally I want someone to take it all but I'd be willing to split large chunks out if needed. Asking $1500, OBO...

    Grainfather!!

I've had this problem with anything over OG of 1.060. I haven't found a solution, but i was told repeatedly and with conviction that it was due to the coarse LHBS crush. I went out and picked up a mill and everything. (I hope that solves some of the problems, but i remain skeptical) The other...

Beerland TV show on Viceland Network

Same here, so far the only worse beer related TV show I've watched was Barley Brew Rebellions. (About Brew Rebellion)

Anyone have PA/IPA recipes with no FWH or 60 min. hop addition?

My Pale Ale recipe is only hopped at 10min and Whirlpool. All of the bitterness/IBU comes from the 10min addition. http://www.thebrewerscut.com/recipes/dorado-xpa-american-pale-ale/

    Azacca rhizomes?

No worries. Azacca aside, I've found Great Lakes Hops has the best selection of plants/rhizomes.

    Azacca rhizomes?

Since Azacca is Registered with the patent and trademark office, it's unlikely you'll find anyone selling them. It was bred specifically by three hop growers as part of the ADHA. Same reason you won't find Citra, Jayrrylo, Pekko, Summit, EL Dorado, etc. rhizomes, they're all registered or...

    Grainfather!!

It doesn't, it just sits in the keyholes. It doesn't seem very sturdy but I have yet to have it cause an issue. (I've got 5 brews under the connect). I remove it before cleaning as well. Some People on the GF Facebook group use some Velcro to help hold it in place. Glad everyone is receiving...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

I had some M43 a few weeks ago when I was in A2 (Go Blue!). It was good, but not on the same level as the big guys (Treehouse, etc).

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

Yes, pH of 5.3 using the American Lager profile in bru'n water.

Cream Ale Cream of Three Crops (Cream Ale)

Right or wrong, i used the american lager profile in bru'n water. It turned out really good. It didn't ferment down quite as low as i would of expected (1.015), so there was a tad bit of residual sweetness. The funny part is, I brewed this specifically for the diaper party, expecting people...

First Altbier - Recipe/water profile feedback

Thanks for the feedback guys! Glad I wasn't too far off. It's happily bubbling away right now. I think i'll be sticking to RO water for future uses. The spring water was considerably more expensive ($9.30 vs $3.40 for 10g) and 1 of 4 jugs had a slight plastic off flavor. (Luckily, it was the...

    Loral Hops (HBC 291)

I brewed a NE Style IPA and single hopped it with Loral. Base recipe was Braufessor's NE Style IPA. I subbed in loral in the following locations: 3oz FO 3oz Whirlpool for 30min 3oz Dryhop for 6days 3oz Dryhop for 3days Fermented with 1272. It was solid beer, but had a chalky bitterness on...

First Altbier - Recipe/water profile feedback

Thanks for the response :mug: I ran out of time and went with my original post. I'm sparging now, i'll report back on how it goes. I also decided only to pitch one yeast pack, i'll save the other for another attempt.

First Altbier - Recipe/water profile feedback

I've recently had a hankering for a Dunkel, but I don't have a good place to ferment at that temperature. I was turned onto a Altbier, and after much research here is where I settled. I'll likely still lager for 4-6 weeks in my fridge. Any input, specifically on the water profile? I think the...
