I will be planning a 6lb batch. I'm planning a slow tradition in ABV until I see what I really like. The grain way sounds like a good approach. But that would mean a total rewrite in my grain bill.

I have a friend that had one of them, we used it to transfer a batch to secondary. That thing, brand new, would not keep the vacuum going and we wound up just using the hose. See if you can get ahold of a Jesus hose.

Nothing to totally worry about. Proper sanitation and a little apple cider vinegar works wonders.

I added a bit of dish soap to my death trap, let's see if it works.

A small glass near the carboys or your fermenter and they will flock to it.

We have some concord grape wine working right now and Apple cider vinager seems to work pretty well for these pests. My $0.02
