I've done it and removed the poppet to eliminate the risk of clogging. I think that's how most people do it to be on the safe side.

How did it turn out? Pitched a full pack into half a 9 gallon batch of 1.056 pale ale and it finally showed signs of fermentation after 48 hours or so. I had expected it to take off faster than the other half of the batch which was pitched on US-05.

Another Farmhouse customer here, had 5 pounds of a few different varieties arrive today that should cover me for a bit.

Been there done that and the beer turned out fine. Recently added a second hose clamp on both hose ends and that had worked much better.

Same picture was on Craigslist and was listed as Revere.
