Would you add the full 1 lb like your recipe calls for? Also, if I'm trying to add from dregs, do you usually use a starter for sour dregs? I haven't harvested from a bottle before, most methods I read suggest creating a starter but the Wyeast website says Roeselare blend (which I used in the...
Not sure if this belongs in the Lambic/Wild forum but this one is much more active so starting here..
So I brewed the following Flanders Red recipe: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/forum/threads/rodenbach-clone.224122/#post-3463464
Brew day hit 1.060, was in primary for about 3 weeks and took it...
Get a spray bottle and start spraying starsan anywhere the leak could possibly be - around the grommet, airlock, all round where the lid seals, etc. Do it during peak fermentation. You'll see bubbles somewhere.
Although I have seen this product discussed when I've done searches, I haven't seen my specific question answered: Does anyone have any experience using this cool zone jacket as a standalone cooling solution without the big enclosure? (i.e. just using the wrap instead of the wrap plus enclosure...
I did end up figuring this out. After confirming that the wiring was correct about 100 times, I checked the connections going into the amp meter and one of the wires wasn't making proper contact. Quick fix.
So I just finished my new control box build and everything looks pretty good so far except the meters.
The amp meter will only display the '1 .' that you see in the image below. I checked the wiring and it seems to be good but I'll double check it tonight.
The amp meter was purchased...
I just moved into a new house and I'm looking to finalize my home brewery setup in the garage.
My setup is all electric so there's no carbon monoxide worry, just moisture from evaporation.
The setup will be at the back of my garage, all the way on the back wall from the garage door. I was...
So I'm building a new control panel and have a few questions about the shunt for the amp meter. I didn't have one in my last control panel so I'm pretty new to the functions of a shunt.
(first two pics below are my shunt and the last is from electricbrewery.com - my reference for my build)...
Thanks Bobby, now I'm all up to speed.
Would you advise against simply wiring up a 30A fuse to the power cord (outside the control panel) to account for this protection, or is that really not the way to go.
Problem I have with the going the sub panel route is that I do not want 2...
So if I understand what a sticking relay is correctly - this would be if, for example, my contactor became corroded or something and started sparking. Then my panel could conceivably pull more than 30 amps and overheat?
