Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

Hard to believe another season is on us again...where does all the time go?..I have only completed maybe 1/3 of the projects I said I was going to get done by now.

How to remove the bitter flavor

Morrey hit on it ..your 30 min WP if above 180 degrees rather you heat or not is basically adding 30min to your 20 min addition which now becomes a 50 min addition. So try cooling fast after flame out down below 180 or skip the 20 altogether. If its your water then I'm no help.

    Using a "dirty" fermenter

LOL...Yah I get that...so here you go..a little harder to see then looking down a gun barrel due to the curve but pretty clearly shows a shiny clean surface. It was a lot easyer to see then to photograph.

What are your contrarian/"unpopular" beer opinions?

OK here is mine.. If your a home brewer why are you still buying other peoples beer? or even caring about it?..especially when it comes to who owns it or who sells out to whom? Other then drinking it at the occasional outing with friends or family its someones else dream/success, move on...

Red tabs on dual body regulator

Their only real beneficial use is to bleed pressure before resetting to a different lower pressure, say you want to go from a 30psi force carb to 12psi delivery pressure. Another possible use is testing individual kegs for pressure..you can zero out your gauge and move on to the next keg.

    contradicting beer smith water totals?

Every once in a while I will get some huge water volume numbers ( like mash with 2500 gallons!) on the Brew step page that obviously do not match my 10 gal batch volumes, and I have to close the recipe and reopen it to fix the issue, but this doesn't sound like what your talking about. I dont...

    Using a "dirty" fermenter

However I do rinse with tap water and then rince again with Starsan...I just dont use any cleaner for 3+ fills...Yopper challenge me on this a month or so ago , so I tore down the posts on a confirmed 3 use no cleaned Keg and they were spotless clean. If your fermenting in a keg then I can...

    Deere John.....

Sorry to hear about the customer service of your new machine, that sucks!. What rod/process did you use to weld the cast? It can be a bit ornery at times as cast Iron is a questionable alloy with little demarcating it from good quality cast to poor depending on what amounts or what alloys...

    Using a "dirty" fermenter

Answer....................Brewing attracts Engineers, Engineers are clean, analytical people. It bothers them. I feel the same way as you with my kegs. Washing every time is a waste of time.

    Deere John.....

So did you take the new mower back? Or are they just replacing the spindle? Not a very good omen for keeping the new mower IMO. I bought a brand new Ford/Fiat Alas rubber tire backhoe back in 2001..biggest POS I own... We have had more issues with that machine then all 16 others combined...

    Deere John.....

I Paid 600.00 for my JD that I got used from a good friend..it was several years old when I bought it 4 years ago...I haven't even changed the oil..purrs like a kitten and never lets me down. You can get a lemon in any brand..That husky looks like a POS to me. FWIW cast iron is not very hard...

So by default she can use or claim ownership to anyone of them. Ill just go buy another...:D This has been in the yard for a week..she hasn't even noticed...
