What did I know? Helped dad bottle in the basement. Came home from school and sampled the brew. Who knew I would be brewing my own now. Yes, We had blowups in the basement. Too soon or too much sugar.
P.S. Can't find Premier Malt in California.
My beer came out very good. I did have a problem with a bottle I opened a week ago. It was over carbonated. It was 3/4 full. It was the tail end of the fermentor. I usually drink those partial bottles first, but it got misplaced. It is still delicious with a little foamy mouth feel. Other...
We Have a Pomegranate tree in our front yard. Besides feeding the birds we have made jelly, wine and now 2 1/2 gallons of pomegranate/honey beer. I had a can of Pilothouse pilsner from Mr. Beer mix LME, 1 1/2 lbs. of honey and a quart of freshly juiced pomegranates. Picked them yesterday and...
I made up 2 gallons of wheat with DME .042 O.G.
and 2 gallons of Dark DME .040 O.G.
I don't give them fancy names, we just drink it.
2 weeks to bottling and 2 weeks to drinking.
You could drink it in 2 weeks in bottles. It will ferment in 4 days but I wait at least a week to bottle. I have had my sample bottle in 1 week after bottling. Tastes good.
Yes, Nottingham Yeast is great.
Well, I bottled the non-hopped Bavarian Wheat Honey beer today O.G. 1.032
F.G. 1.002 = 3.93 ABV
I tasted it after I took the F.G.(waste not, want not)
It is very good. Nice flavor and not too sweet.
It isn't bitter by any means but it has a nice light taste.
I was going to bottle it...
There is another post on here with the question whether anyone had made a non-hopped beer. I decided to try it.
It is Bavarian wheat dme with honey O.G. 1.032.
Who knows, I might also be making a Table beer with that low of a O.G.
28,989.5 + 2 = 28,991.5
