regular dry pellets, bought a pound and used most of it 2 years ago
I doubt it's pbw given how much hot water I rinse through everything
new hops and grain purchased....hopefully not a waste
probes are cheap enough to have two and just switch inputs on your controller....
i don't need a temp probe to boil.
I use my for mash (recirculating) and for prechill for a hopstand
I mounted it on a modular piece that I can put anywhere on my plumbing (camlocks)

i used it previously without an issue, and my wife thought it was god awful too. i mean seriously, it's bad enough that i'm throwing away like 10+ gallons of beer now....
so I think i found the culprit after making two awful batches of ipa. Anyone have something like this?
first bad beer was a basic IPA, but a first time brew on a new EBIAB setup. since it was really just a 'test' beer, I used a bunch of hop cones I found and froze last year to dry hop...
second brew day on the books finally, worked pretty well! I am just in awe of how quickly this setup heats and chills water. And it's so much easier to just clean in place w hot pbw and a dish brush
Upgrades/mods:
- Modified a new corona mill, ran it off a drill on low speed for my grind
- rare...
several people have threads on their builds. some as simple as on/off switches to fully automated controllers
Mine is a relatively simple layout electrically that gives a lot of nice manual control
My wiring was only tough because I squeezed it into a pretty small enclosure...
