Anyone have mens room red clone?

How did this all turn out since this post is a year and a half old? I spent two years living in the Tacoma/Lakewood area and drank Mens room red and Mac and Jack's like they were going out of style. I would love to bring some of the Washington craft brew-ness to the townies here in Michigan...

Can I learn from your mistakes?

Ok guys here it is. I have attached a picture of the Mad Mick Stout as I've called it completely finished. I am trying the first glass right now and it is delicious. Malty and slightly hoppy with a great texture to it. I am quite impressed with it for being my first batch. It could stand for a...

    Brewery names--what's your story?

And a great name for this brewery's IPA would be Mikhail Pail Ale in homage of the design of the AK series of rifles Mikhail Kalashnikov.

    Brewery names--what's your story?

S & R Brew Works. We went a bit serious like Deep Six in the event we take it to the next level. It's simple but it works. It is nothing more than the first initial of the last name of me and my friend who brew and bottle together.

I am not speaking from fermenting in the barrel experience. Just from my general knowledge of the use of Oak Barrels in alcohol in general. The reason oak barrels are charred before the liquid is put into them is two primary reasons. The first and foremost is flavor nodes and color. The second...

Can I learn from your mistakes?

Ok excellent. Now what do you guys think Secondary or No Secondary? I was just wondering if a secondary would make this beer better since it is a Milk Stout and Im looking for that thick creamy texture. Also Im trying to have this beer ready for when I have about 20 people at my house for...

Can I learn from your mistakes?

Ok so after yesterday's wonderful the second bubbles in the airlock today is quite a different story. They have pretty much ceased. I'm not sure if fermentation is stuck or what it is. I plan on giving it a few more days then checking gravity. It has been in the fermenter for 3 days now. We'll...

newbie - forgot to put water in airlock!

Glad to see this post. My first Extract/specialty Grain brew i.e. first brew period, had been in the primary for about 30 hours when I realized I didn't prime my airlock. I hope it turns out alright. :(

Can I learn from your mistakes?

I went downstairs this morning to give my beer a check as I was having little activity in the airlock when I checked it yesterday afternoon. This morning the yeast are doing their thing in high form. Ambient temp around the primary is 66 degrees F. Yeast are happy, beer is becoming beer, and...
