Got free bottles to give away? Post 'em here!

5 or 6 cases of empty bottles i am getting rid of near fort meade, md. Very well cleaned and delabelled, but going to kegging now. Mixture of long neck and short bottles. If no one is interested by next week they will go to the recycling. Pm me if interested.

Can I use a keg with no way to cool it?

A brewing friend of mine generously bought me a complete corny keg kit as a present, only problem is I have nowhere I can put a keg to chill it. I continuously scan CL for cheap chest freezers, but I don't have any immediate plans to acquire one and am not sure I could even fit one in the house...

    DC Group Buy #5

Thanks IslandLizard, I appreciate it. Ideally I'd like to get 20-25lbs of DME, I feel like I just go through those little bags from the LHBS at the rapid rate. I'm full up on all my other grains right now, I need to get more of what I have into liquid form!

    DC Group Buy #5

Bucksnort, much appreciative for the offer, though stonebrewer's is a little far away just for 10 lbs of DME...any interest out there for anyone to split a new sack of DME? I'd thrown in for a couple other sacks of base malt and help the buy along except I still have TWO unopened sacks from the...

    Keggle - A Wider Hole?

I second (or third, or fourth) getting an angle grinder from harbor freight. I think I picked up the 4.5" one for like $20 and a set of 10 discs that included cutting and grinding discs as well as three flap wheels for like $10. Flap wheels do a good job on the major cleanup and a little emery...

    DC Group Buy #5

Damn, looks like I got to the game a little too late on this one! Any interest in the group splitting another sack of DME? 50 is just too much for me at the moment, but I wouldn't mind stocking up 15 or so lbs so I can stop buying the 3lbs bags for $12 or $13 a pop at the LHBS.

DC Metro area group buy #2

Stonebrewer, I'll take a bag of 2 row Pale Malt to close out the buy.

DC Metro area group buy #1

    MD/DC grain

Good call Robfar, maybe next time I should read the top of the doc before getting all excited and scrolling down to see the prices... So, for anyone who is interested I played around with a few shipping options just to get a feel for what the new shipping prices would be like (I am also a...

    MD/DC grain

Does anyone have any idea what the new shipping might be? I am ASSUMING $7 per bag for comparison purposes, but given the recent sudden changes in prices, I'm not sure that is a valid assumption anymore.

    MD/DC grain

I'd like to add a few bags if the buy is still open: 1 x BD-MOPA 1 x FB-PILS 1X BZ-SMOK Is anyone in the odenton/severn MD area that is going to pick up a group buy in DC? Would be interested in pooling resources.

    Uber-long Primary?

That's a negative on the kegs. One is better bottle carboy, the other a brewing bucket. I just want to be certain that leaving these two beers on the yeast for something like 15 months isn't going to destroy them. Nothing worse than coming back from deployment to bad beer!

    Uber-long Primary?

I have a question about how long a beer can sit in primary. I brewed two big beers back in June, a Barleywine and an Old Ale. After doing some research on the forum, and seeing what Papazian and Palmer had to say about primary vs secondary and the minimal dangers of autolysis these days, I...
