Will using regular dish soap compromise my plastic fermenter any?

Thanks for the advice. I just bottled a gallon batch of Caribou Slobber and took my sink sponge with hot soapy water to clean out the barrel. I just used regular dish soap and alot of hot water. I guess that's part of the fun of home brewing is the learning as you go.

Thanks for the advice. Some of the terminology in brewing is still new and I haven't learned all of it yet. What do I need to get a gravity reading with a Mr Beer kit? All I have is there 2 gallon carboy, and bottles. I know I need to build my toolbox, but that will come with more time and money.
