I picked up a 15oz can of the Oregon Dark Sweet cherries in syrup. (Already pitted)
I'm still wondering when to add this ingredient. I think these are my options:
Puree cherries and add to primary
Puree cherries and add to primary after fermentation is complete (should I drain the syrup...
Most commercial storage places won't let you do any kind of "activity" other than moving things in or out. At the very least, you may get away with it a few times before they notice and tell you to stop.
Probably gonna be $200+ /month for a decent space like a garage or shed. Thats my two...
I have a simple hefe recipe - I was going to try to start a Kellerweis clone but i'd rather try a nice wheat with some fruit this time around. (Preferably cherry)
I only have a primary fermenter (Mr. Beer Keg). Should I get a can of cherries in syrup and then puree? Should I get fresh...
I would suggest one but don't worry too much about it. You'll just have to strain the hops or let them settle.
Very useful and a good investment. You can wash and re-use them. However, I can bet you could get a pack of nylon paint strainer bags at Home Depot / Lowes for cheaper. Its the same...
Depending on the steeping grain used you may see a slight increase in the gravity reading. I doubt it'd be enough to really "change" the recipe. I would estimate maybe less than 1% abv change. Maybe 0.5% ?
Finally got a pic up:
Used Safale US-05. This was a pretty crappy pour - I normally get more head (bwahahaha) but this beer clears extremely well after carbing for about a week and then spending 3 weeks in the fridge. I didn't use any Irish Moss/Whirfloc.
Can't wait to make it again! :mug:
A Pale Ale or Blonde Ale (Like BierMuncher's Centennial Blonde)
My first pale ale was rather simple and was delicious with 2-3 weeks bottle conditioning and about a week in the fridge. (Note - it is a ~2.5 gallon recipe)
Linky...
I'm trying to decide between WL320 and WL300.
The SN Kellerweis tastes rather clean compared to other wheat beers I've tried so i'm not sure if the WL320 should be used rather than the WL300. Then again, isn't the Kellerweis a German wheat to begin with?
Hope ya feel better soon.
You still had it better than I. I managed to cause a huge blow-up with my girlfriend and I over a week ago and its still not fully resolved. I ruined our 5-year anniversary and Christmas for the most part.
I would have rather been sick :(
Only thing I could think of would be if you were opening/pouring the beers at a very high altitude...
A lower ambient air pressure might allow more CO2 to come out of solution, thus producing more foam.
However, seeing as you are in VA - I doubt its high altitude thats causing this. Thats...
