I mainly brew alone. I used to let everyone know I when I was brewing but after several batches I realized I prefer to just brew alone. It is relaxing therapy to brew alone, seems to crazy and unorganized when people come over. I can't focus on what I need to be doing while something else is...
I would recommend completing your 60 min mash then raising the temp to 168f. Once your mast temp is 168f kill the power to your HLT and start sparging.
Thanks for reply, I'm not set on the 2.0 just throwing out a number. I'll try the 1.2 to 1.4.
If you apply 30 psi to the nitro/co2 tank, wouldn't it apply that to everything in the tank that would in turn mean you are getting 30 psi of CO2 also?
I haven't kegged a beer I plan on serving on nitro for a few years. I know that I want to carb it around 2.0 volumes of CO2 before I hook up the Nitro/CO2 mix. My question is:
If I hook up the Nitro/CO2 mix at 30 psi, won't the co2 that's in the mix eventually over carbonate the keg at that...
I ran into this dilemma when I was building my setup. I ended up building a table. Here's a photo of my table with my old keggles on it. I have drawers on the right for everyday stuff. The pumps are in the middle on a pullout drawer and I have more storage on the right.
MikeyA,
I've experienced what your talking about with the ice at the bottom. In my case I have a slow freon leak and when the system gets low it runs the compressor more and creates excess water and lots of ice. Even freezing some of my yeast bank. I would recommend having the freon level...
I got the chance to brew in a local brewery a couple months ago. They used the blue lines for their serving pressure and red for a high pressure force carbonation.
Does it matter what time of year to dig them up? A few years ago I got two varieties and gave one to my dad to plant. Now I want to get a rhizome from his plant.
I also have a TDD-2 and love it. I keep three to four corny kegs on the left side and made shelves for the right. I agree it is a little loud but love having a commercial keg fridge in my bar. The oversized compressor works great for cooling down fresh beer from the fermentor!
Only problem...
