Carbonic will refill your tank. Praxair at 116 Railroad Ave is a little cheaper I think for exchanges. They pretty much only have 20lb tanks, but if you bring in anything smaller, they'll give you a 20lb for it. They also don't seem to care about inspection dates or anything like that. I...

Hey all, I was in Ace Hardware in Dutchtown Plaza in Palatine Bridge and they're now carrying homebrew supplies. Not a huge selection by any means, but they have all the basics including malt extract and hops. Dry yeast, no liquid.

Holy cow! I stopped by PraxAir this morning with my empty, out of date 20lb co2 tank with a rubber bottom that no one else would even hydro test plus an empty 10lb tank. They didn't have any 10lb tanks to exchange, so they gave me two tested full 20lb tanks. Total bill: $25.92. $10 per tank...

Wow, that's cool that they took the tank with the plastic bottom! I've got an out of date one of those, too, and never had any luck finding anyone who would take it or exchange it. They said that in order to have it inspected I'd need to grind the plastic off as they need to see every surface...

Nope, I've been there for the past three years, this'll be my fourth. We always camp out on Saturday and it really is a great time.

I had planned to start doing that this year, but with the state of my hop yard so far, I'm going to have to see how it goes and how much I'm going to end up with. My Hallertaur, Golding, and Columbus did terrible with the wet weather and I've barely had any time to do weeding. - Sean

I buy some of my feed from them as well, they're very close. And you're a Misfits fan? I used to run a small punk/hardcore record label a ways back. - Sean

Honestly, some of the larger breweries in the area that do want fresh local hops don't seem very interested in paying much for them, not enough to make growing them profitable. Some of the new smaller breweries in the area might be, though. I don't have that many hills, around 60, and I grow...

Hey all, just thought I'd introduce myself. I live about halfway between Fort Plain and Fonda out in Stone Arabia. I've been brewing for about four years. I run a 3 keggle all grain setup and I grow my own hops. Our farm has a website if anyone's interested in checking it out...
