    How are you adding hops?

I supose I could dedicate a GPIO pin to a talking Emeril bobble head. Haha

    Bucks Electric Brewery

They had those hand scanners at Equinix datacenters. I hated using them, you could feel the layers of nerd grease!

    williamsWarn, too bad so expensive

I'd pay 250, maybe $350 for a temp controlled SS fermentor with serving vessel. But $6000??? Do they really think they can sell more than 10 at that price?

    How are you adding hops?

@dmashl That's what I currently do, however I'm looking for ways to spend less time watching water boil. :) I found "UNIVERSAL POWER DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR MOTORS" for under $5, they're for adding power door locks to your car and come with mounting hardware that I can use. I think these will work...

    How are you adding hops?

I found stepper motors for under $10 a piece. I think I can make these work, however I'll hold off buying any until I hear your opinions.

    How are you adding hops?

I'm looking to automate my hop additions and I think I'm going about it the wrong way. I was thinking I could get 4 tiny hoppers and hook up a small actuator to each and have my pi dump at specified times. However I'm not seeing small actuators for below $40 a piece, so that would be $160 in...

1 to 2 gallon automated system a waste?

I just thought about building something like this the other day, and the idea has been stuck in my mind. I've been procrastinating automating my big system because I don't like drinking 10 gallons of beer at a time, especially when you have a less than optimal batch. I'd much rather drink a...

1/4" French fry cutter as a mill?

WVMJ, That's exactly the first hand info I was looking for, and kinda what I expected the answer to be. Thanks!

1/4" French fry cutter as a mill?

HAHA Nice! I could probably do all 20 bushels in under 2 minutes.

1/4" French fry cutter as a mill?

Between the two options, I think the garbage disposal will chop a lot more seeds than the french fry cutter, I'm not that worried about it. I think I'll go back to the garbage disposal idea, it will give better texture for pressing.

1/4" French fry cutter as a mill?

I'm looking to do about 20 bushels of apples. 30 seconds per apple isn't going to cut it. Also trying to stay under $100.

1/4" French fry cutter as a mill?

I'm looking for a cheap way to mill apples and I'm looking at either a garbage disposal or a french fry cutter. I'd like to get the french fry cutter (like this one but with a 1/4" blade http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000T3OO8C/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 )because I can get a lot more use out of...

Correct way to bottle a sour?

Great information, thanks everybody! I think I'll just dedicate a keg to carbing sours and use my normal regulator.

Correct way to bottle a sour?

It's been almost a year since I started my Roeselare and I'm planning to bottle soon. I'm debating whether I want to bottle carbonate or keg-carb and bottle that. I'd prefer to keg-carb and let it condition in the bottle, but then I'll have to dedicate a keg and regulator to only sours. As...
