Hello all. My name is Robert and I live in beautiful Portland Oregon (Craft beer capital of the world IMHO). I'm married with 4 kids. I am a beer fanatic. I love everything about beer. I love drinking beer, talking about beer, researching how to make beer. So I decided to jump into brewing my own. This is something I have been thinking about doing for the past 2 years or so. In order to start off on the right foot, I recently took a beer making class at F.H. Steinbart Co. here in Portland and now I'm officially hooked on brewing. I think what interests me the most about brewing, besides being able to drink beer, is the science behind the beer. It's absolutely amazing to me how many different variables have to be accounted for when brewing and how one slight tweak here or there can drastically change the flavor of a beer. While I have been drinking craft beer for the last 5 years or so, my palette is still rather newbish with regards to what I'm actually tasting in the beer,
