I like Vegemite and Marmite, but I would never consider putting it in my beer.

I had the last of my Apfelwein that was almost 2 years old a few weeks ago. It tasted extra yeasty for some reason...I think I prefer it before it gets to the 1 year mark.

I made a couple of batches and enjoyed them for the most part, but now I'm kind of over the taste of it. Plus it's hangover juice because of all the added sugar. Does anyone have any alternate recipes they could suggest?

Sierra Nevada Great Lakes Ommegang

Buy Rite just opened a location in Jersey City, where I work. The beer selection is amazing...almost a quarter of the massive store is filled with microbrews. There was one beer I discovered they didn't have though - Coney Island beer.

Does this make a difference to the hot break, or is that not a concern with extract brewing?

I think it depends on the extract. Personally, I steer clear of canned extracts. I don't like the "canned" taste they impart. The AHS liquid extract is great, and DME is good too.

I also have 9 pounds of DME.

Strong Christmas Ale, I guess you could call it. How much cocoa should I add? This is a 5 gallon batch.

Hi all, I'm doing a Christmas Ale brew, and I'm not sure of the order/quantities I should add some of my ingredients in. I have: 3 oz NorthDown hops 1 oz Kent Golding hops jar of pumpkin pie spices (cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, ginger) bakers cocoa I also have some cinnamon sticks if...

I'd also like to add that I haven't been very impressed with Long Trail's offerings either. Maybe I'm just too much of a hop head, but their beers just seem really bland to me.

Haven't been to the Ginger Man yet. I'll be going in a couple of weeks though. Their selection looks top-notch.
