    New BYO Aussi brewing article

Your 7 gallon kettle will do just fine. I used a 7 gallon kettle yesterday with 11 pounds of grain. Put about 6 gallons of water in your kettle and then slowly add your grain. I used a 2 cup measuring cup to drop my grain in. Your grain will end up absorbing water which stops it from...

What do Americans think of Canadians generally?

I really enjoy the Canadians that I am on a personal basis with. I do have some concerns about the rest of you guys though (at least those on the west coast). I live just south of Vancouver and have made some observations; Canadians have no regard for the rules of the road. (Very...

    My first PBR

I went into a bar in NJ two years ago during a business trip. This guy walks up and gives the bartender fifty cents and orders a PBR on tap. What the heck? PBR? They still brew that? I hadn't drank, seen nor heard about PBR in more than 20 years. Anyway, last month my wife and I went...

    Scottish Ale

Here is a great link to information on the Scottish Ale style by Ray Daniels. Hope you enjoy it. Be careful with Scotch Ales - they have a way of making you forget about all the other styles;) Scotch and Scottish Ales

    New guy from Kansas!

Not at all. It's usually based on the time of day you post and your location. You happen to have posted right during dinner on the east coast and drive time on the west coast. Don't know what happened to your brethren mid-westerners though.

Can anyone point me to or offer more information on the Scottish "Tall Font"

You can start at this B&B (At least to your wife, it's a B&B) Bed and breakfast accommodation at Traquair House, oldest inhabited Castle in Scotland.

Can anyone point me to or offer more information on the Scottish "Tall Font"

The only reason was aging. I figured to get the heavy's out of the way and let them sit around 42-45 for a couple of months or more. You had me searching for hours last night:mug: That's kind of the impression I was getting while researching. I never did find a picture or any...

Can anyone point me to or offer more information on the Scottish "Tall Font"

I wish I could help you with that, but I can't. Sorry, I will keep an eye out though. I would like the author of that book though. I also wanted to tell you that, it seems that you and I have the same taste in beer. I'm doing the same thing you are doing with brewing the an entire series of...

    Brewing my frist batch tomorrow

    1. That's a question that is going to be answered with personal preference. I really do not think it matters. 2. Actually you can keep it in the primary for the entire time. You really do not need a secondary unless you are planning on letting it sit in there for more than 4 months...
