Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Ginger Wheat

I made this recipe last year, unfortunately I was still too eager and drank most of the 5 gallons within 3 weeks of bottling. I was so unimpressed but I found a couple of bottles that escaped my initial drinking, they were so sweet, but not like ginger ale, it definitely tastes like beer but...

Exploding Bottle (Never had this happen, not sure what to do)

I'm planning on stove top pasturizing my cider today. (roughly 3.5 days in). While i'm heating up the water now, one of the bottles waiting exploded. Do I still pasturize or is carbonation too great? Need an answer asap, doing this now

    Adding fruit to cider

I know that the generally when adding fruit to beer the suggested ratio is 2 lbs per gallon of beer. So my question is what's the general ratio suggestion for adding fruit (pomegranate, cherries, etc) to cider?

    Stuck fermentation?

Update: So I checked the Gravity today. 1.012 making it so far 4.7% abv. So I assume that means the yeast's eating away. The recipe calls for a second fermenter after two weeks for a week. It's coming up to two weeks, should I transfer when it hits to a second or should I leave it in the first?

    Stuck fermentation?

Hey, I brewed my first AG missed the og with 1.048. Pitched with dry yeast. I'm used to kausen leaving marks 3-4" up the wall of the fermenter. It's been a week and all I've gotten is a few bubbles and the yeast has settled to the bottom. My turkey bastor isn't long enough to grab a sample for...

So I think I screwed up

Had a grist ratio of 1.5 quarts and did a backward calculation for the spathe water with a boil off rate of .58 gal per hour. Unknown crush rate. But now I'm thinking over my method. I heated my spathe water to 175 to bring up the grain to 170 but I didn't let it steep for any really period of...

So I think I screwed up

I followed the 3 week chocolate oatmeal stout recipe on the forum. I cut everything in half because I don't have a big enough kettle for a full AG. Had LBHS crush the grains, no equipment for testing Ph, hit the right temps for the right amount of times. What did I miss?

So I think I screwed up

I tried my hand at AG for the first time. Tried an oatmeal stout with an OG of 1.068. I followed and hit all the temperature marks on the dot. Ended up with an OG of 1.048. What do I do now? Pitch and hope for the best?

    Spent Grains

Make Bread? I mean I know how to make bread with yeast and flour and everything else, but what do you substitute with the spent grains?

    Spent Grains

I'm finishing my first batch of AG and have a bunch of spent grains. What do you guys generally do with them, other than toss them into the garbage?

Efficient Octagonal CPVC manifold for Rubbermaids

Oh I don't mean that I'll cut the 45* connector, but the pipes that connect them so that i can gain more space. but I'll edit this post after I finish the trimmings.

Efficient Octagonal CPVC manifold for Rubbermaids

Alright, thanks for your response. I finally made it to a computer. I actually built it off of a 5gal post within this thread but I think I was too cautious with my measuring. So after relooking at it, I think I can shave off about a 1/2" from the width, and perhaps I can cut from the angled...

Efficient Octagonal CPVC manifold for Rubbermaids

That's the pic I could get from my phone. I can bend the pipe to the fip but the front edge of the manifold runs right across the fip. I think I'm going to just split the pipe and add a 90 degree joint to bend around it

Efficient Octagonal CPVC manifold for Rubbermaids

So I ran into a problem and I'm hoping I'm just missing something stupid. I built the manifold and set up the 5G rubbermaid. The problem I'm having is that there is not enough space beneath the FiP to slide the manifold, I haven't bent the cpvc piece but i don't think that'll help...

    Doing some calculations pre-beer day

So I'm planning on making an Oatmeal Stout. I'm new to AG, but I understand the mechanics of it and I've been reviewing all the guides. My question is as follows: The sticky note on the top of the forum talks about having a grist ratio of 1.25:1 qt/lbs of grain. So I plugged it into the...
