Picnic tap or handle faucet for a better pour??

I like using my faucet when I take kegs to go, but you should be fine with either one. Number 1 priority should be proper serving temp, though. Get the keg good and cold before you head out, and keep it on ice. Don't apply the co2 until you need to.

Ten minute cooler mash tun conversion

+ if the max operational temp is 175 then its fine. I use it too, and checked this fact first

    Sanke Coupler Disassembly

Nice Pics! Have you managed to measure those O-rings, and more importantly, do you know where to find replacements? I have an old sanke coupler that leaks pressure from the body of the coupler, and I think those internal O-rings are the culprit. the one I'm working on is a slightly older...

    Cobalt Regulator

Honestly a brand-new beer reg is only 5-10$ more than the first link. I thought about going economy but I decided it was worth the 10$ to get the tried and true equipment.

    Steam infusion question

Dear steam-mashers, Do you find you have to adjust volume calculations to account for the gaseous water you add turing temperature ramping? Or is the amount of water added minimal?

How do you clean your racking cane?

I attach this thing Poly Sweeper Nozzle to the garden hoseto rinse all my tubing, valves, etc. works great, very high pressure. Sanitize by siphoning up starsan solution.

    137 gallon fermenter IDEA

That cooling system sounds inefficient, by that I mean seems like it would take a shattun of energy to cool that sucker. Occasionally you see walk-in coolers or freezers on craigslist for cheap, seems like that might be a better option. Or maybe the interior stainless coil would be better...

15.5 Gallon Cornelius Ball Lock Kegs

I once proposed a project such as this to an experienced welder/homebrewer who said its a very hard weld and that he preferred not to do it. Personally, I think It would be a lot easier for you to just buy one of the sanke snap rings and use the keg with its current valve system in place. If...

    Primary & Secondary fermenting temps...

Yes, although it isn't necessary to do the entire primary fermentation at a higher temp just to deal with diacetyl. Those who worry about it (mostly those who lager) use whats called a diacetyl rest. What this involves is raising fermentation temps to, oh 65F+(depending on yeast) for a short...

risk of using scratched plastic fermentor

I wouldn't think twice about it. You'll be fine. In my opinion, the dangers of scratched plastic are vastly overrated. My bottling bucket is scratched to hell but I still use it, and without ill effects.

    Golden Gate Kegs

Whoa, if those things are in working order, why would you want to cut them up? Those would be great as serving vessels or fermenters. Besides they are becoming antiques. I say just go straight to a sanke keggle, then use the GG kegs as is. It just seems like a shame to cut up a rare item...

    A brewboard refugee

Ha! I like it here already! But seriously, I'm pretty sure the difference is that zombies are more oxygen permeable, making them "skunk" faster. I prefer vampires for my secondary resurrections.

    A brewboard refugee

Actually, the only problem I have with the brewboard is it doesn't work anymore...I never got involved in the drama. Turns out all the old members started a new forumBrews Brothers (Powered by Invision Power Board) over here, so I joined that too. It was weird not having a forum there for a...
