Yesterday I begun fermentation on a coopers Irish stout and i fear iv overdone on the choc malt - The ingredients i added are as follows;
1 can Coopers irish stout
500g DME
350g sugar
300g chocolate malt (I fear overdone)
200g pure cocoa powder
1 vanilla bean

I thought i might of been expecting too much too soon i just hate to think id have wasted a full batch because it taste so good, yet flat!
Ill leave it a good 2 weeks before trying again to check the progress

So iv recently brewed a hambleton bard lager and the fermentation process was fine. Anyway i decided to keg this batch rather than bottle however i tightened to cap too much and there wasn't a good seal resulting in flat beer.

I opened the FV yesterday and took a gravity reading to see how it's progressing - I was surprised to get a reading of 1030, I had an original gravity of 1048. I was expecting a lower reading than that after its been fermenting for 7 days? It didn't even have a krausen on top.
