Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

For three summers now, I’ve brewed this with some modifications. The grain bill is the same with a pound of corn sugar to up the ABV. Hops, I use the same strain as in the original recipe but quadruple the amount. .5 oz cent at 55 and 35 minutes. 1 oz cascade at 20 and 5 minutes. Then an oz of...

Wyeast straight from the fridge to the fermenter?

It’s pretty new. The expected OG according to the sheet says 1.060-1.070.

Wyeast straight from the fridge to the fermenter?

So I decided to brew tonight. It’s an extract 20 minute boil. I didn’t have time to get the yeast out earlier today and so I’m wondering if it’s cool to just smack the cold yeast pack and dump it in right away? Will that cause any problems?

    Homebrew equipment for sale.

Decided to go through my garage and sell off the stuff I don’t need or use anymore. The beer gun, I bought it and never used it, you can have it and the accessory kit for $60. The Blichman Therminator chiller and hoses is $100. The Rip Tide pump, I’d like $200 for it, I bought it and never used...

Are the horizons for home brewing narrowing?

Yep, if my lagering fridge hadn't died, I'd be making Oktoberfest and Pilsners year round, I'm stuck going back to ales full time, so yeah. I usually go through phases where I like to make IPAs, then I'll go through a phase where I make all stouts and porters. Then I'll make session beers and...

Has anyone made a clone of Billy Carter’s Billy Beer?

At a garage sale recently, I obtained a few cans of Billy Beer and they told me that since it’s over 40 years old not to open the cans and drink them, the guy said it’d probably taste like rust. Since I was born a few years after Billy Beer went out of business, has anyone who had it remember...

    IPA Glassware

A few years ago, my wife found a pretty wide assortment at a garage sale. The woman’s elderly father died and left about 50 assorted beer and wine glasses. The woman was asking 4 for $1. So my wife FaceTimed me and I picked out 4 that I liked. She told my wife her dad had about 300 beer glasses...

Drilling a hole in the top of a freezer lid.

Here we are, project mostly finished, just running line cleaner through all the lines. Then I will put in my two other kegs that have beer in them and fill the keg with line cleaner with mead. Let me know what you think. 3C2CB95F-93F4-422E-BF75-D876A0174139 by Randomnoob posted Feb 23, 2019 at...
