What should I do with it?
I'm inclined to put some sort of whisky in it for a while... how long? Then some red wine or port... and THEN the homebrew... But really I'm totally new to this. Plus I read that smaller...

So I was lucky enough to score a Stranahans CO Whiskey stave during a distillery tour two weeks ago and the first idea to pop into my mind was to do 5 gal of a sour Oak aged cherry porter.
I plan to shoot for a smooth porter...
