I have drilled a BUNCH of holes in keggles with the same greenlee unibit and a 10 volt cordless hitachi drill. Just use cutting oil use the slow speed on the drill works fine. The worst part is getting the initial hole then when it starts cutting it takes no time just stop every so often to oil...

I am also in the process of building a E-Keggle and started getting nervous when it took over 3 gallons of water just to cover the element. I installed it as low as I could but the shape of keg only allows for so much.
