Blichmann 15 gal vs More Beer 15 gal kettle

The relatively thin kettles and propane are just fine. This whole ply bottom thing is not a big deal. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Blichmann 15 gal vs More Beer 15 gal kettle

Go to brewhardware.com, get the 15 gallon bayou classic, add the sightglass/thermo combo, and a ball valve. About $230, really good quality stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Finally ordered the Blichmann Therminator. Tips?

I use male camlocks for my wort in/out, and I have a T with dial thermometer on my out (from brewhardware). I mount mine at the same level as my chugger pump. I always use a paint strainer bag on my hop spider. I run some water from BK during my mash to rinse. I recirculate during last 15 of...

    Blichmann Top Tier System Debates......

I currently have two burner tiers. Someday I'll get a tower of power. 2 with a pump works well for me now. I think 15 gallon pots are the way to go. They are just way more versatile than 10 gallon pots, even though I mostly do 5 gallon batches. I use the bayou classic 15 gallon pots and add a...

What pots to use with Blichmann Top Tier?

I use the 15 gallon bayou classic stainless kettles with valves and brewhardware temp/sightglass. Great setup for around $200. brewhardware sells the kettles.

Bayou Classic 82 quart stock pot, is it a good deal?

I have two of the 15 gallons and I think they are great. Add brew hardware sight glasses/thermos, and ball valves with camlocks and you have a really nice setup.

    Fermentation chamber gasses

Does it burn your nose when you inhale? I'm guessing it does, which means it's actually CO2! You're fine.

    Picnic Tap Leaks

Teflon thread tape is fine for food contact. Same stuff as what's in a non-stick pan.

    Brew pot suggestions

Bayou Classic stainless pots are a really great value. Add a valve and sight glass/therm from brew hardware, 15 gallons for less than $200.

Overcarbed at 10psi? Does temp make that big of a difference?

That doesn't make sense to me. Gas will equalize pressure - I don't see how one could be getting more gas.

SS Gas Dip Tube Too Wide for Keg

Yep, I spent hours researching and trying to find elusive parts, only to realize that selling it on Craigslist for a small loss and buying a more expensive reconditioned keg would make things much easier.
