    Slow fermentation?

    Thank you for your help! About how much sugar should I add when I dry hop? And I assume corn sugar would be best? I have never had krausen left at dry hop time before.

    Been in fermenter for 2 weeks. I used a liquid yeast for the 1st time . Don't have a stir plate yet so swirled it a lot for 2.5 days.     Suggestions For A Better Immersion Wort Chiller

    I use a ice bath for my brew kettle and the copper head chiller takes maybe 30 min to get to pitching temp. for a 5 gallon batch.

    The target was 1.051. 6.6 lbs of lme. And 1 lb of kara red.

    I am brewing an American Pale Ale from an extract kit. The kit is supposed to make 5 gallons. I hit my target gravity at about 4 gallons though. Any thoughts on why?

    Help selecting equipment

    I am also very new to brewing. I started with a very basic kit. I have added a wart chiller and secondary fermenter, also a few testing and stirring tools. Next will be an outdoor propane burner and large kettle.
