I've got a bunch of Mr. Beer brown 1 liter PET bottles with caps. Free to good home.
I need to make space and I'll never use these things again. Someone should make use of them before I throw them away. Some are in better shape than others, all are rinsed and cleaned, all usable and...
Yeah, it seemed to pick up last night and is going good now. I'm just not used to that much lag time.
I still have 1 vial of 644 Im planning to use with something else. I will definitely make a starter with that first. I'm gonna have this cake too, I was thinking about a Fruit Beer maybe...
Crap, I wish I had done a little more research on this strain and the starter needed before I jumped into my first all Brett beer.
I thought it looked a little different from other wlp vials as there was not as much sediment in the bottom as there usually is. I didn't think much of it til...
I also kegged my Belgian Stout yesterday, finished at 1.004 from 1.053 and I brewed a BDSA and pitched onto the cake. It's blowing off like crazy now 14 hours into fermentation. I can't wait til the Stout is carbed up and ready to drink, tastes fantastic as it is, man I'm loving this strain!
I just pitched it into some 1.053 Belgian Stout wort. Using it as a starter beer for a BDSA I'll be brewing next. The descriptors sounded like it might be good in a Stout, we shall see..
Wondering if anyone has ever used a Lambic Blend yeast for primary fementation of their Cider? I have a pack of Wyeast 3728 that Im thinking about using, but now I'm unsure as I cant find any info on anyone using it for Ciders. It does sound intriguing to me although part of me wants to just...
I'll also be doing my 1st Saison in the next week. My LHBS was out of Pilsner malt so I went with Briess 2 row instead and Flaked and White Wheat. Don't know how its going to turn out, but I got 565 and I'm gonna use Nelson Sauvin and Citra hops.
I just brewed an MO/EKG Smash yesterday on a whim. Everything went well, got about 72% efficiency. Pitched a vial of wlp023 Burton Ale, Never have used this yeast before. A buddy of mine said it can be finicky. Interested to see how this comes out.
I make an all late hop pale/ipa. Ive been changing it up slightly here and there as far as hops and slight grist bill modifications to see what I like best. It is my most consistent beer. Always comes out a winner.
I did scale my ibus back on the last batch though to more of a pale ale style...
Im not sure what it was. I dont think it was hops. The worst part is I drank a few bottles before I decided to pour one in a glass and thats when I noticed the floaters.
I've been rather disappointed with their beers. I had a case of their Chinookie IPA which had chunks floating in it, and a case of this White Lightning that was not carbed right. Some of the bottle caps flew off and the beer fizzed all over the place. Some barely made a hiss when opened.
This...
I just bought a fermwrap setup and Ive had a temp controller for a while now. A few questions I have if someone would be kind enough to answer...
Where is the best place to place the probe of the temp controller? Its a Johnson analog one.
Can I lower the temp controller to do Lagers/Pilsners...
Cool, I will check it tonight and see where its at. I didnt really think anything went wrong. I did what I always do when brewing. Just wanted a little assurance. :mug:
