Hi all,
I'm trying to sell my keezer before a move.
I built it myself, including cutting, sanding, staining, and finishing the wood. It has 6 Perlick faucets and an analog Johnson temp controller, also come with two ball lock QDs. It works great! I just don't need that much keg space any...
Swamp head is good... Sometimes. Very inconsistent. First Magnitude blows them out of the water in Gainesville. Try Green Bench's stuff if you can get it. They have a grissette with Brett and a BA sour that are both incredible.
Unfortunately a lot of breweries in FL that distribute aren't that...
I wasn't even a thought yet in '91.
Hilarious, you'd think he would choose a less obvious name...
The LHBS I work at has pre measured salts for RO/distilled water. Three water profiles (hoppy, balanced, dark). We charge 50 cents per 5 gallons LOL
From what I understand you'll need to put it under a microscope, and even then cell morphology isn't always that useful. You should post on MTF and see if anyone on there can help you ID it
I would recommend First Magnitude before Swamp Head. Drift is a really nice beer, and its a style you don't see very often.
I also second Green Bench. They have a couple sours out in 500ml bottles that are really nice.
I work at a HBS that opens at noon, I always catch myself saying "Good morning" to the first customers haha.
A "Stupid things customers say to the LHBS worker" thread would be even more amusing. Customers say stupid things every day! You would not believe how many names for an airlock there...
I am a LHBS employee, and I'm happy to say our shop meets a lot of the needs you guys have posted. I will say I have been to other shops in the area that are pretty terrible. I've seen hops stored in the fridge or even at room temp. Having to buy at least an oz of a hop variety seems annoying...
Never used a secondary, wouldn't recommend it. It's another place infection can get in, and infection is the worst thing that can happen to a beer. Plus I'm a lazy brewer and proud of it
Exactly why the whole free market thing doesn't work for local breweries. Sadly enough unless the beer is terrible the public will drink it and like it. It's more about atmosphere, advertisement, brewing popular styles, etc. The public doesn't know the difference between an average IPA and a...
I was thinking the opposite, Jville is a perfect example of this. Went to Wicked Barley's for the first time and it ranged from mediocre to average homebrew, very disappointed. The dopplebock was gross, sours all had THP. I could call out a few other breweries but will refrain. I will say...
