I started with a 90gal/hr pump but that was barely enough to over come the resistance and gravity. It's now on a Eco 396 pump (400gal/hr) which flows well.
Well it's been a couple of years on, the last several months have been a little slow on the brewing front, but some updates on the system:
It's still going strong. No major issues, just the occasional crack in the tubing where the barbs plug into the coolant tubing. I'm going to replace all...
I got some questions so i thought i'd re-post the questions:
I don't cold crash in the fermenter so i haven't tried it, everything goes to the cornies which may or may not sit out. I generally use med-high flocculent yeast, and also quickly chill the wort after boiling and don't have haze...
Day-trippr is right, I had the same issue. You need a way for the hot exhaust flame to escape. Easiest way is to cut a coulple of holes in the Keggle skirt. Once you do that the frame will much less heating.
1) my 3 year old trying to climb the single tier when all 3 vessels are full and the metal is red hot.
2) trying to jump high enough to touch the moon, but only making it far enough to get trapped between the two gravity wells, thus being stranded there for all eternity. My main nightmare when...
It could be expensive (all shiny copper/stainless... couple $G's) or reasonably cheap (the industrial look with black iron pipe). Or for very inexpensive you can use PVC pipe and paint it (there are some good examples here on HBT)
When i first got my mm3 it was covered in lots of metal flakes left over from the knurling process. I took out the rollers to scrub them down (also to get rid of the machining oil) and it's been good ever since. I'm guessing you're having the same issue. The flakes won't hurt or have any effect...
TIG welding SS isn't for new welders. I've been welding for years now and I'm still not attempting to do a sanitary weld on my fermentor. Brew stand, HLT, BK no problem, but not for my fermentor!
Welding mild (aka regular) steel is a piece of cake. Stainless is a b*tch.
So yeah, with all...
