Yes,of course the wife is what is important. I just wanted to share this experience. I was surprised that it was fermenting wildly after 10 hours. I thought i would have time to get home and cool it somehow before it ferments too much.
Anyways. I racked it already and ill brew another batch...
I was brewing a red ale. Then my wife was feeling terrible all of a sudden, so we left for the emergency room.
I took 5 minutes to throw everything in a carboy and a pack of dry yeast (better risk it than throwing it away)
It was at 35°C (95°f) when i put dry yeast pack and had boiled foronly...
The instructions say nothing about mixing it. It's from the research I did on the net on making wine. I thought it was to remove the co2. But it could be for oxygen for the yeast also.
Hola !
I just mixed my first kit of red Shiraz wine. I did it yesterday and fermentation is slowly starting today ! I did a lot of research and I read that I should mix it daily during 1st fermentation. Apparently I have to mix enough to get all co2 out.
Can I use an electric hand...
I started the first fermentation today. Worked well. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. All i changed was follow the instructions on the yeast instead of doing what the instructions say and just sprinkle on must.
It says og should be between 1.080 and 1.095. Of course i got 1.082~
But it...
Since you're the first to answer this in 3 days I bought it today. I will be making it tomorrow. I bought the Shiraz kit on demand of the wife.
I know Costco has very high standards since I have worked in 2 company's that manufacture their products ( granola bars and now cookies).
If I sanitize...
Anybody here ever try the costco wine kits ?
Its 100$ for a kit that makes 60×750ml bottles !
The reviews from customers are all very good. Apparently they taste great.
It comes with 60 corks and shrink wraps and labels.
Sounds like a great deal !
Anybody here try them ?
This would be my...
Ok. Long story made short.
I brewed a porter. Ran out of gaz on bbq and by the time i came back home and reheated everything. I barely had time to boil the wort for 15 to 20 minutes. I then had to leave for work so i cooled wort down and added yeast.
Luckily my wife cleaned up the mess.
So...
Yep. Pretty much anywhere its illegal to dump stuff down the storm drain. But I believe it's not illegal if you don't get caught...
Or just empty it in the garage drain, backyard behind the shed...anywhere. But getting caught pouring stuff down the storm drain can be VERY expensive.
I bought the "dots". Printed them out and put one on every cap (all 300 bottles!). So much easier to sort out. No more questions from my friends like " which one is the ... Kinda beer.
Thanks so much. This will be good until I make out my real plastic labers from my friend who owns a banner...
Damn ! Wish i thought of that a long time ago. I got a bunch of bottles here that i call suprise beer. Because i dont know what they are.
That a cheap and easy solution !
Do they stay on in a cooler full of ice and water ?
So what else do I need for this ?
The "manifold" with the pressure gauges and regulator. And a co2 tank ? Are those universal or do I need sanke manifold and gauges ?
Thanks
I'm looking to buy my first keg because I'm tired of bottling and keg's are cool.
I found this in the local ad's. Is this a good price ? Are these any good ?
What should I check if I go there ?
Is there a good keg buying guide thread ?
Thanks...
