    Grapefruit Mead?

Just a one gallon batch and straight up bread yeast. Nothing too fancy.

    Grapefruit Mead?

I've actually got a batch of this going right now. Following the JAOM recipe I used a handful of raisins, about 4ish lbs of honey, and grapefruit. Used one and half. Just cut em up and tossed em in. It's about at the two month mark now and still bubbling.

The Barley Mob is very approachable. I've contacted them though email trying to get some information on their group and they invited me to a meeting right off the bat. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend so...hopefully, at some point, I'll be able to. Anyhow, feel free to pm me if you're interested...

Irish Stout into Chocolate Stout? Help

Thanks for the feedback Wyoming. I've worked cacao powder before and it's a little sweet for my liking. Though I might use a little along with some roasted barley. I'd like to use some black cherry extract (sweet cherry I think), but I haven't used it before, still curious though.

Irish Stout into Chocolate Stout? Help

I read your previous post and thank you for your insight, but if anyone has some suggestions to adapt this kit into a chocolate cherry stout I'd appreciate the input. I've got a pretty good idea of what I want to do with it and would like to bounce some ideas off someone. If I wanted to keep it...

    Joe's Ancient Orange Mead

Made three batches of this. One strictly by the book, then a blackberry/lemon variant, and a grapefruit variant. Been a month so far and still happily bubbling away.

Milk-Mead (a spin on koumiss) instruction, recipe & info

So I made a batch of this and and went to bottle it and it smells absolutely foul. Like a mix between rotten eggs and honey. I went ahead and bottled it, tossed em in the frig hoping after it chilled a bit the smell might go away. Anybody have any similar issues?

Supplies are hard to come by in these parts. I end up ordering a lot. There's a place in fort Oglethorpe, Beverage World, that has a small selection of stuff and some knowledgable staff. Usually where I go. Outside of that Atlanta or Knoxville are your best bet, sadly.
