    Saison Citra-Mosaic Saison

Yes, I brewed this as a BIAB.

big taste in low alcoholic beer

Use a lower than normal pitch rate and do not oxygenate the wort. I haven't tried this approach, but those are the suggestions in the notes for this low gravity rye stout from Chop and Brew. http://chopandbrew.com/recipes/rse-rye-stout-espresso-homebrew-recipe/

    Saison Citra-Mosaic Saison

I really liked this recipe. I made it as a 3 gallon BIAB, but converted to a 5.5 gallon batch for sharing it here. Batch Size (fermenter): 5.50 gal Bottling Volume: 4.75 gal Estimated OG: 1.051 SG Estimated Color: 4.2 SRM Estimated IBU: 25.4 IBUs Brewhouse Efficiency: 70.00 % Est...

    Hops That Blend With Columbus

The best IPA I've made had equal amounts of Columbus, Mosaic, and Summit late in the boil and at flameout. It was bittered with Warrior. Great stuff.

    What yeast for an IPA?

I just bottled a black IPA fermented with 1007 and I second this opinion. I fermented in the upper 50's and it's super clean; like hop juice.

Styrian Goldings hops from LHBS have really low AA

A couple weeks ago I used some 2.3% AA Styrian Goldings bought from Midwest. I was using them, along with some Willamette, later in the boil so I wasn't too concerned with their contribution to overall bitterness. The beer (a kinda sorta Deuchars IPA clone ) has turned out quite nicely.

    Deuchars IPA Clone Recipe?

Just took a gravity sample, took a taste, and added 1 ounce of Willamette dry hops. Gravity was 1.013 after starting at 1.056. It tastes wonderful. There's nice malt complexity that I'm attributing to the Golden Promise. I've never used GP as a base malt, but if this is normal I'll use it much...

    American IPA Berry Dankster

This beer took 1st place in the IPA category at the Nordeast Big River Homebrew Competition in Minneapolis. It's on the lower end of the bitterness scale for an IPA, but it has huge hop aroma. The judges remarked on the stone fruit, berry and dank pine aromas. It's probably the best beer I've...

    Deuchars IPA Clone Recipe?

I lived in Edinburgh for 6 months a couple years back and really enjoyed drinking Deuchars, so I was pleased to find this thread. This weekend I brewed a "Scottish Pale Ale" that was a higher gravity (but same IBU/OG ratio) riff on the recipe posted by the Caledonian brewer earlier in the...

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

An IPA. Mostly US 2-row, with some Vienna and a little Victory. Bittered with Warrior, then columbus, mosaic and summit at 3 mins and flameout. Great aroma coming out of the airlock. Going to dry hop with some combination of columbus, citra and mosaic probably. Really looking forward to drinking...

Taking the Mystery Out of Fermcap-S

I've used it while boiling starter wort in an Erlenmeyer as well as in my boil kettle. Never had any adverse effects.

    Strong Bitter Common Room ESB

Yeah, I'm not too concerned at this point. I'm going to let it sit in primary for a few more weeks then dry hop. As we all know, patience can solve a lot of issues in homebrewing.

    Strong Bitter Common Room ESB

I tasted mine after a week in primary. I think I've hit terminal gravity and I'm not sure I like the bitterness. It's harsh and almost tannic. Pretty sure I didn't extract any tannins during my mash, unless my mash pH was off. I've never used Target hops before so I'm not sure what to expect...

    Strong Bitter Common Room ESB

Last Sunday I brewed a 3 gal BIAB version of this recipe. 90% MO, 8% Simpson's C50-60, 2% C120. Bittered with Target and finished with a mix of Fuggles and EKG. S-04 yeast. Going to dry hop with a little Fuggles and EKG. Looking forward to drinking this one, it smells great.
