Yes we are doing this again this year. All beers for the contest need to be to our new location in Helena by 6PM September 28th.
Our new address is:
1525 Dodge Ave
Helena, MT 59601
We are next door to Lewis and Clark Brewing Company.
I let this one age for quite some time and have been finally drinking it now. Other than having a slight ester (which is improving with age) it is really nice. I would say after several months of aging it finally tastes similar to Optimator.
I would suggest to try a decoction mash on it...
I recently am in the position to purchase a new grain mill. I had been using the BC in my shop (I own a LHBS). I know just how much grain we put through our mill and it's tons (literally) and I'm in a small town! Needless to say, I only got about 1.5 years out of my BC before it went kaput...
You'll be just fine. Mine didn't take right off but I started them cold. They perked along real slow for about 3 weeks. The OG on this beer was 1.047. :-) I think for me, even though I own a homebrew shop, I'll likely continue to use 34/70 for my lagers. It's easy and reliable. I used it...
I did my first batch with 34/70 recently with a pilsner. It's aging rather nicely. I have yet to lager it and it's super clean with no Diacytl rest. I think I'll be taking this one straight to the lagerator. I did a 12 gallon batch with this yeast and Pilsner Urquell from Wyeast. Both taste...
I wanted to let folks from Bozemen know that we moved. We are now located in Helena at 1525 Dodge Ave, Helena, MT 59601. We are in the same building as Lewis and Clark Brewing Company.

Hello homebrewers,
I want to introduce the Townsend Montana Fall Fest Home Brew Contest. It is occurring on October 1st and 2nd at the Townsend Fall Fest in Townsend, MT. There will be lots of fun to be had. The Clinton's will be headlining the music for the weekend on Sunday October 2nd...
You all should come down and visit my shop sometime. Smellysell is a frequent customer here. FYI We are holding a homebrew contest this Fall at Townsend's Fall Fest. Entries are due next Friday 9/30/11.
We cater mostly to the all grain brewers but we have a little bit of everything. We...
Hi all,
I have a client who is looking to make a clone of this beer. I did some searching online and found no referances to it. He said the Swiss don't let this one out of the country or their site. Any ideas would be very helpful. Thanks!!
Cheers, :mug:

I am the owner of a shop in Townsend. I know we're a little further of a drive than Belgrade but we have a huge selection of things. I have over 40 specialty malts in stock at all times along with bulk grain and several varieties of extracts and kits. We also stock fresh Wyeast products...
The cereal I am using is all natural and has no additives or preservatives. Basically it's like adding equal parts of flaked rye/wheat/oats. I've used it before but just am curious as to what the possible points would be in something like that.
Thanks for the advice.
