    Extract brewer considering BIAB

I use this for my mash tun cooler. Never get a stuck sparge or any grain in the boil kettle. It's just a paint strainer. I put the pan on top to keep from hitting the bag when stirring. The first time I used the pan, it caused a suction under it, so the holes were drilled into the pan to prevent...

    Fake Conical Bottom?

I have a 60L Garman plastic tank used for wine. When I put it in the fermenting chest, I put a 3/4 board on the spigot end so the trub falls toward the back. Works pretty well. I will lift it out of the chest and let it set overnight on top of the chest with the wood in place to take care of...

Baby Bottle Sanitizer/sterilizer for small parts?

I don't have anything like that to clean up, but if I did, I would use my Instant Pot.

Paint strainer bag as a hop filter

I use the bags as well. I also started dry hopping in the primary, then transfering to the secondaries.

    Brewzilla 65L USA 220v to European 220v?

Just to let everyone know. the US 240V is two phase, not single phase. There are two 110V lines 180 degrees out of phase from each other. If the pump and control panel run on only one of the 110 phases, you could get a step down transformer to knock the 220 down to 110. However, any timing...

Wiring Diagram Help 200/30a 1 element 1 pump

Concur with Rufus. And just so you understand, circuit breakers are not there to protect any devices, they are there to protect the wiring. The GFI is there to protect you.

5 kegs and 2 fermenters to clean.

I use oxyclean with great success, even on moldy bottles I get back from some people. I moved to big mouth bubblers years ago, makes it easy to dry hop as well.

    Dry yeast starter

I concur. I can easily sprinkle the yeast over the entire top of the wort with my big mouth fermenter, so I will try it next time for sure. Thanks everyone.

    Dry yeast starter

I may pitch dry for the next batch to see if there are any visual and taste differences.

    Dry yeast starter

kh54s10, I understand what you are saying, but if the yeast is working great, how can it be stressed? It doesn't seem like half the cells died with such active fermentation. I usually have to clean my blow-off tube and it is 5" above the level of the brew. I guess if I have it working, so be it.

    Dry yeast starter

Thanks for the reply. I could probably do the same thing as you do. I just use mine as a failsafe against bad yeast, and have been doing that for six years now. I ask because I've read many articles that say not to use a starter as it reduces the number of yeast cells. If it does, I don't...
