Not really sure what you guys think is coming, and why you think its impossible? If you refer to the original post, you will see my intention. It is not to make a mill twice as good for half the price....thats just not possible. My goal here is to make a better mill at an 'affordable cost'...
I think he's threading the cams on after the rod is through the roller, that's where my concern is...with the strength of that connection. Personally I would machine that cam onto the rod, it would be stronger and cheaper to make. (obviously you make the cam smaller than the main rod)
Dont worry bout me...its coming. Couple questions about your design...How long are your rollers? You are threading the 'cam' ends into the main bar? Any luck with getting a file I can view yet? Ill send you my email addy. Also any others who have done up some part files Id love to see what you...
With all of you being brewers, Id figure you guys would have more patience :)
The design is in the works. I think there will be 2 diffent ones. One where money doesnt matter, the second on the cheaper side just to see what guys are more interested in. Also I have to make a few decisions in...
or you could just email me your solidworks file? dont worry, im not gonna steal your idea. Ive got something thought up already, just have to make sure I can make it on budget.
306 stainless??? You mean 316? If so your crazy for using that stuff. 303 is plenty good enough for corrosion resistance and twice as easy to machine.
Not sure how your adjustment works on that roller. Is the opposite bushing just really loose? Can you adjust during milling?
And I know your...
That is one serious mill. i just never thought there would be many guys in the market for a $500 mill!!:drunk: Id like to get somewhere close to that exteme, but obviously keep the costs a little more reasonable. Id have to check on material cost, but a 2 3/4 inch stainless steel roller sounds...
Figured since I havent been brewing much in this cold weather that Id make some stuff for the brewery! Im going to start off with a grain mill. Ive seen the stuff in the market today. By the looks of them and the reviews Ive read on this forum, they all seem to work great. But being a machinist...
Ok, to set things straight here. I'm not looking to distill or brew this. Too much time involved for experiments. I was more so looking at a purchased product to age. I'm not looking to learn how to make whiskey or wine. Just looking to learn how to purchase a whiskey wine or beer that would age...
I just had a baby and I thought that a beer or a wine kept from the year of birth until the 19th birthday would be pretty neat. Just not sure how feasable this actually is. Obviously the abv would have to be high (tnp?). Anyone have some ideas or experience? Thanks
never used one, or used anything like it. could you make it cheaper yourself.....of course!! but if you have more money than time..more power to ya. im sure youd love it and make tons of great beer with it!
