Recipe created by ChatGPT - Does it check out?

I asked ChatGP to come up with an NEIPA recipe, it had an oz of hops at 60 minutes, one oz at 10 minutes and a one oz dry hop 😂 I asked it why there were so few hops and it said: "You are correct that the amount of hops in this recipe is lower than what is typical for a NEIPA. NEIPAs are known...

    Beer Engine dispensed ale

Thanks so much for all this information, very much appreciated!! ( @DuncB thank you too ☺️)

    Attaching Collar to Keezer

+1 for not attaching the collar with anything. I used weather stripping on the bottom of 2x4s and the 2x8 'face' holds it in place. It is taped with aluminium foil tape on the inside, as I insulated my collar.

    Beer Engine dispensed ale

Any chance you could link to the thread or describe your set-up? I'd love to set up a beer engine and have done some research but got so confused I gave up 😄

Transfer from Fermonster with floating dip tube to Corny keg - tube intake too low

I can't take credit for this idea (I saw it in another thread on this site), but you can use a magnet to hold the float above the level of the beer and get the end of the dip tube right to the bottom of the liquid above the trub in the fermenter. This assumes the float is near the edge of the...

Using a secondary bucket for conditioning

Just listen to what people are telling you rather than you want to hear. Sorry if this comes across as rude, as it is genuinely not my intention. However a number of people are being very helpful and it seems like you're pretty much ignoring / questioning what they have to say because you...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

So I kegged this on Friday and started drinking it the next day after 24 hours at 30 PSI. Doesn't even really taste 'green' and I will be super excited if it gets any better, as I think it's already the best beer I have made :) I made a few changes to the above plan: 1. I did reduce the CA...

    Beer too sweet, already kegged

You might also find the beer is better balanced once it's cold and carbonated... You can buy isomerised hop extract that will add bitterness with no flavour and can be added to the keg without boiling (saved an APA I made when my electric boiler died and ended up doing a no boil beer!)

Brewing hazy IPA: dry hopping time, low o2 brewing

I have left the dry hops in the keg for my past two batches... Never got any vegetal or grassy flavours and both beers tasted great until the kegs kicked. One of them I fermented and served in the same keg and that had no off-flavours from the yeast either. I guess other people have had issues...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

And thank you, too 😊 Yeah I did try to get the Ca below 100 but was having some issues (very much a beginner when it comes to water chemistry). I'll have another play around with Bru'n Water and see if I can get it down without affecting the other values too much. Cheers.

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Awesome, thanks so much! The grain bill was from the clone recipe and I've already got everything in hand and crushed, so will probably leave both wheats and the carapils in. Should probably have gone with something simpler for my first all grain NEIPA but it is what it is! Appreciate your...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Hi all, I've read all (now) 426 pages of this thread over the past few months and am about to embark on brewing my first all grain NEIPA (did a no-boil extract with no hot side hops which turned out great!) Would appreciate any thoughts on the below. It's based around Verdant's 'Even Sharks...

    Very hard water and IPA

I'm from the UK and have also lived in very hard water areas. I used to use all tap water, calculate alkalinity using salifert tests and dose with CRS but now just buy RO water and dose from there with salts. Usually gypsum / calcium chloride is all I need to add. I am FAR from an expert on...

    Experimenting with CO2

Here's a couple of links that may be of use... https://www.jimsbeerkit.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=83025 I'm not in Devon but found it hard to find CO2 suppliers locally as well. I ended up going through Adams Gas, who have a network of local suppliers for 'pub gas' (CO2 and nitro/CO2...
