+1 for not attaching the collar with anything. I used weather stripping on the bottom of 2x4s and the 2x8 'face' holds it in place. It is taped with aluminium foil tape on the inside, as I insulated my collar.

You can buy isomerised hop extract that will add bitterness with no flavour and can be added to the keg without boiling (saved an APA I made when my electric boiler died and ended up doing a no boil beer!)
I have left the dry hops in the keg for my past two batches... Never got any vegetal or grassy flavours and both beers tasted great until the kegs kicked. One of them I fermented and served in the same keg and that had no off-flavours from the yeast either.

Yeah I did try to get the Ca below 100 but was having some issues (very much a beginner when it comes to water chemistry). I'll have another play around with Bru'n Water and see if I can get it down without affecting the other values too much. Cheers.
