Yes a step or uni bit is the best way to get a clean cut hole. Will go through aluminum nice and softly. And as long as you don't apply a lot of downward pressure a 18v drill will work just fine. Just go slow.
Was wondering if anyone has done this. After adding yeast and before sealing it. Could you take a sample, put it in a 12 oz bottle with foil over it. And just use that as you want to check your hydrometer readings? Won't have to worry about opening primary since you have a sample already. And of...
