I am a beer and beverage salesman and finally decided to brew my own beer after 10 yrs. of being in the business.
I first got interested in brewing because I heard a documentary about it on the radio but also I wanted to learn more about the process and beer itself. Being in the business of selling beer is more of marketing and numbers and pushing the big brands (money makers) so I wanted to learn more about what I was selling and why people were so passionate about it. I have only been brewing for a very short time and have learned so much about the different types of beer and what makes them different and how the different ingredients make them the way they are. It's fascinating! I know you must be wondering 'how can he sell beer and not know this stuff'? Well, when the main concern is hitting number (making quota) it doesn't really matter what is in the bottles.
