HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Is this related to the Uno just simply not being recognised by the Pi or is it deeper than that? If so It would take an awful lot of reviewing the early days of this thread but this happened to a me where I had some uno that’s just wouldn’t be found?

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

It does look like a smart solution, to save on soldering etc my concern would be if it fits inside the pelting and also whether you might need to adjust some of the pinouts. Also where the temp sensor would go?

If it’s working when the power is connected that’s a good start. Assuming you’ve played around toggling the switch etc it might just be a bad connection to the battery. Or the battery just not having sufficient charge.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

There is a way to check if the ispindel is sending data to Fermentrack, I’ll need to check my emails from GitHub to refresh my memory though so will try and post later it’s in one of the st readouts I think. Pretty sure adjust the frequency that iSpindel sends though has to be done by resetting...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I’ve used one that drops onto the pins of the RPI which took some fiddling to get working, think I had to add some drivers but it worked. This one looks like it connects via HDMI so you shouldn’t have any problems with it displaying. I also used kiosk which meant that whenever I turned on the...

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

Also I should say I use a Sainsmsrt relay and have no issues with scrambling on my LCD display with Fermentrack

    How To: BrewPi LCD Add-On

I never resolved the scrambling with my arduino version, if you’ve not ordered yet, it might be worth taking a look at Fermentrack. It’s based on Brewpi and uses a Raspberry Pi, and functions in a identical way, but is still being supported. It’s what I have moved too, although there really was...

Not sure about the gziped htm but from the home screen if you select the device you want to control from the top menu, then after that’s loaded click the device name and select configure control constants you can amend the max temp there. Mine is max 35c and min -8c which seems to work

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I have added an LCD touch screen direct to the RPI and used Kiosk to Permanently display the temperature LCD that you have on the web interface. It’s a bit bigger that the 20x4 but it did plug and play pretty easily. It’s worth looking at. If you want that.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

You can cold crash by altering the beer setting through the web interface. Which is the only way to control Fermentrack (I believe) And yes it is all wireless if that’s the way you want to go, the instruction thread/link and. Videos explain how to set this up in the first few posts. Re the...

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

Yeah I think you’re missing the male to female connectors that get soldered to the pcb and allow you to remove the WEMOS. Other than that it looks like you had everything

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

Sorry logged onto Ubidots to try and see my formulas but apparently I’ve run out of credits and have to buy more. I’d had started and will be using Fermentrack to log my iSpindel when it’s up and running again, but if somehow I can find the info I’ll post it. I seem to remember it was pretty...

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

On ubidots you can add your own calculation, so you can add a new data field that takes Plato and converts it to SG using a common formula then set it to show to 4 decimal places. My iSpindel is out of action at the moment as the pelting leaked so I need a new battery and case. [emoji17]

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

Sorry what I mean is that to flash my wemos I had to have a USB cable attached to the wemos and a second attached to the lipo to power it. Then to charge the iSpindel I use the connector on the Lipo rather Wemos. Edit - I just checked I can’t actually charge the battery by connecting the usb...

    iSpindle - DIY Electronic Hydrometer

Have you got the Lipo charger hooked up to? I think once you remove that part from the Wemos it needs to draw power from the battery (or other power) there just isn’t enough power to flash the device otherwise (I found anyway)
