Anyone have luck with draft line balancing formulas? Bumping previous post.

Will 1/4" bore shank be a problem with 5/16" beer line?

Hey There, I'm wondering what people ended up finding with the draft line formulas. I am looking to mount my taps 12 feet above my kegs and will keep my kegs at 13 psi. With the formula below its telling me to use 15' or 5/16th tubing (which gives .40 psi resistance per foot). Does anyone...

    Room for hops?

The hops wil absorb a good amount of beer ao you should have room. That being said I would just get a 6 gallon carboy and purge it with CO2 before racking into it. Then you can use it as a primary too if needed.

Fermenting in a closed chest freezer

I wouldn't bother opening it unless you want to check them out, a build up of CO2 will not effect anything.

    Saving a low efficiency batch

For future batches it would be good to have some DME on hand. You can take pre-boil readings an see if you are way off. If you are you can calculate how much DME you need to get up to your target.

    New to partial mash

The type of beer doesn't really matter however if you do a low gravity recipe you will be able to get most of your fermentables from the partial mash as apposed to a higher gravity. If you get into using wheat, oats, and other adjuncts with no hulls consider using rice hulls.

    Brutus 10 Brew Kettle

How is the quality of this pot? I am looking at getting a 26 gallon kettle and their 102qrt seems to be a pretty decent price. I am looking for a heavey duty kettle that is going to last a really long time.

    Clone SN Tumbler...Help!

My batch is pretty tasty as well. I think it could use a few more IBUs to match up with the tumbler but it's still delicious.

    Crankandstein not grinding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe the 328D is the largest they sell and has three rollers. Spend an extra $30 and you get a base and hopper.

    Crankandstein not grinding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and my brew buddies purchased this mill and experienced the same thing. What I saw was that grain was getting lodged between the top free spinning mill and the hopper. I used a butter knife to clear it out. In the future I think I am going to try and throw a washer or two between the...

    Bending Stainless Steal tubing?

Thanks for the input guys, sounds like I might not be able to get this done to brew on Sunday unless I can get a shop to bend it for me. I got 5/8 tubing since that is the OD of the copper tubing I already drilled my false bottom for. I did read a few things on filling them with sand but not...

    Bending Stainless Steal tubing?

I ordered a 3 foot section of stainless steel tubing to make a new dip tube for my mashtun (and HLT) and I was wondering how I should go about getting the 90 degree bend in it. I will need to go from my ball valve through my false bottom. The tubing is from McMaster-Carr and it's part number...
