Hi all- I brewed a brown ale last night and pitched a pack of Notty into it as soon as it cooled. 18 hrs later it’s got a nice krausen on it. The krausen is a nice even cream color, but it has a darker 2” brown spot as a part of it. It might be normal, but just looks strange. Thoughts?
Brewing my first batch in about 5 years. Decided to start off with a known recipe and am doing EdWort's Haus Pale Ale. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out!
My wife had been using a wine aerator for awhile now too. (That thing really works too!) I had a similar thought, but haven't gotten off my butt to try to build a bigger wort-sized version. It's gotta be just a big Venturi effect, pulling air in through the lateral holes as the wine flows...
Not to mention that a burst disk letting loose is damn near defeaning. When I was a firefighter, we had one let go on a 2200 psi SCBA tank. It was louder than hell, even from 50' away and around a corner! I'd hate to be riding in the car with one when it kicked off. :eek:
