The 2nd starter made after decanting literally just took off a few min ago. It wend from a flat foamless surface to a nice normal looking head.

I've never seen anything like that or heard of that happening but it could be.

I decanted the liquid into another starter and removed what looked like just hop vegetable matter clumped together. But now the starter, 24 hrs later on a stir plate, hasn't shown huge signs of fermentation nor has is formed a krausen.

Not sure, it's too soon for a pellicle to grow.

I just bottled a saison that I added fruit in secondary and also accidentally got some fruit in a few bottles. Why were your bottles ruined? What should I expect from the bottles that have some fruit chunks in them? I bottled with Fantome dregs so I would assume what ever bugs are in the dregs...
