Well it looks like men arent needed anymore

Ummm... I already do all those things :) I've got the bum back to prove it (stupid me lifted a 50lb feed sack and stretched too far forward in an attempt to lift said sack over a chair, in the process pinching a nerve.) Hubby bought me an air compressor and a tool kit so I'd leave him alone...

    Need help creating chat room

It's not that IRC is difficult, it's that it requires the others to download another program. Being that they are business associates, I'd rather not have to suggest they download a program. There is also the issue of configuring the IRC client, and I know if I suggest they download the...

    Need help creating chat room

I'm not really familiar with web-based IRC chat, and the others aren't familiar with IRC programs like mIRC. I think the web-based will be easiest, but I'm not sure the best way to go about it.

    Need help creating chat room

I am in need of a web-based chat room. Several acquaintances want to get together and chat, but not all are familiar with IRC. I'd like to have something that a user can log into an IRC channel via web page because I prefer mIRC but don't want to have to force everyone else to download another...

    bottling wand mishap

I've had the same problem with my bottling wand, and I just splash the excess into a small pitcher I place below the bottling wand to catch spills. For me, this happens usually towards the end of a bottling session when I'm getting a bit tired of the routine. Early in the process I do what...

    Mary Poppins

I LOVE it! I'll never be able to watch Mary Poppins with a straight face again.

    Hopes and Dreams?

Sounds like my dad :) He "retired" at 65 and proceeded to take a part-time job with the company he retired from. He died last week at 83; he retired from his part-time "retirement" job last month due to health problems.

    Hopes and Dreams?

My dream is to move to a small farm (maybe a bed and breakfast), it's something I'd love to do after hubby retires from his current job (another 8-10 years to go though.)

    Pets that Rule your house!

Tammy here doesn't "rule the roost", but she looooooves chicken; she's trying to snag a chicken wing from the smoker.

    skipping the secondary

Good topic! I've only brewed three batches, and put only one in secondary. I'm still too new to have a real opinion on if secondary is good or not, but at this stage of the game clarity of the brew isn't a concern for me; I'm sure the beer tastes just as good cloudy! That being said, I...

    Corned beef for slicing?

Any ideas on the best way to cook a corned beef for slicing for sandwiches? I've always prepared corned beef with cabbage (a might fine way, no doubts) but I'd like to cook one specifically for thin slicing.

    Flat Beer

How long has the beer been in the bottles? What temperature are you keeping the bottles at? I also bottle in 1 liter fliptops and in my experience they need more time to carbonate. Also, one has to be real careful to seat the top absolutely straight on the bottle mouth; if they are just...

    When to bottle?

My first batch was a pale ale that started out at 1.062, and didn't drop below 1.021. I took SG readings a couple days apart, and when it didn't change, I bottled. that was three months ago and I have about 1/2 the batch left with no problems so far.

    Mother Earth News talks beer

My first exposure to TMEN was in the 70's. Although I'm a subscriber now, it's definitely NOT the same magazine it was back then!
