Hi all, Looking to sell my rig. It's about a year and a half old. Works like a champ. Would like to try and sell it as a single set in the southeast somewhere relatively close to north alabama because i don't want to have to figure out how to ship this stuff. -- BK and MT 15 gal. HLT...

    Issue troubleshooting 50a pid panel

Issue resolved... Turns out 2 out of 3 PIDS were the correct type. One was a 16C3 the other 2 were the correct 16C2. Guess which one i was dubugging on... yup. C3. the incorrect one. I had the polarity reversed on the others output but didn't think it would work because it hadnt worked on the...

    Issue troubleshooting 50a pid panel

I do have a probe hooked up and the temperature is correct by comparison to a thermometer. I had an error right when i started testing (well before this post) but the PID flashed an error code and i fixed it pretty easily (crossed wires) . I did just switch the other two wires on the probe...

    Issue troubleshooting 50a pid panel

The exact issue has been identified. The PID is not sending an output voltage. i replaced the PID with a 12VDC power charger and everything worked perfectly from SSR to the element heating quite happily. double checked the PID, no voltage across pins 1 and 2. Love 16C controller. Any thoughts on...

    Issue troubleshooting 50a pid panel

Sweet! thanks doug293cz... I had started to believe there were 2 seperate issues. I think what you're saying about the light is true. now only 1 issue! And actually, after researching just that. I've found that the same is true between the 2 output pins of the SSR. I tested the voltage across...

    Issue troubleshooting 50a pid panel

Winger22: I meant i physically opened up the enclosure on the element inside the kettle and checked to make sure it wasnt shorted out. I just checked the PID-> SSR for connectivity and made sure they were lined up correctly. I'll check for voltage, though. good idea.... not sure why i didnt...

    Issue troubleshooting 50a pid panel

Hi all, Really scratching my head over this one. Hoping to get some thoughts on what to check next. Doing final testing on a 50a diy pid panel from ebrewsupply for an eherms build. As far as I can tell the whole 110v side works fine. The elements on the other hand...are not. When the elements...

    HERMS recirculation

Thanks for the comments everyone! It helped clear it up. So it really does happen but most do things to prevent this causing any issues such as stirring the mash. Good point Gameface on the other reason the go slow through a sparge. IE giving the fresh water time to soak up the sugars when...

    HERMS recirculation

so this topic only moderately fits in the subject of electric. I can relocate if needed. I'm building an eherms system. going great. had a questions related to mash recirculation: the internet is basically saying that during mash, you can run your pumps wide open as long as you don't get a...

15 gal electric stout tanks bench depth question

Yeah I was intending to wait for delivery to make the newsstand as well. I'm assuming because nobody has mentioned it before it must not much of a big deal. I was just wondering if there would be a massive pylon sort of thing I'd have to walk around to see in the kettles. And I was wondering...

15 gal electric stout tanks bench depth question

Hi all, I'm about to pull the trigger on a 15 gal stout tanks HLT,MT,BK trio to be the base of an electric herms setup modeled after the electricbrewery.com concept. I noticed that the flange for the ouputs of those tanks (below thermometer) seem quite long. I'm a little concerned about...

    Stout Tanks - Awesome!

So i too was getting ready to make an order from stout for an eherms and figured it would add the useful info on the thread to just tack onto the end... The only issue i can find with the setup without seeing it in person is how long the output flanges are on the kettles. ie the output right...

Mineral Creek Brewery - Start to Finish e-HERMS basement electric brewery build

I really like how you have your pumps mounted. very clever. I'm assuming quite flexible because you can slide your pumps. Would you mind telling me what those rail pieces are called and where you got them? Thanks!

Tun size selection in eherms build. 5 and 10 gal batches

Cool that's what I was going for. Thanks for the info and tips everyone! The 15/15/15 sounds pretty reasonable. Glad to hear there wouldn't be any issues with smaller batches assuming all the ports are located correctly
