It is so easy! I will put my rice wine in a Tupperware dish and leave it sit in the freezer for about 2 weeks. Then I take the slush and I put it in a blender that has a spouse. Then all the alcohol goes to the bottom and drains out the spout while I take the ice that's left up top and scoop it...
It tastes sweet but yet has a kick like you're doing shots of whiskey. I didn't check it in my hydrometer this time so see the % of alcohol. When it doesn't freeze in the freezer, you know it's strong 😊
This is freeze distilled and after a bunch of shots were taken 😁 The color is more golden yellow than in the picture. I'm not sure why it looks pale 😒
I put mine in a mason jar and let it sit in the fridge for about 2 weeks to let the sediment gather at the bottom. Then I'll slowly open the lid to let the gasses out. Then I'll siphon it out and toss the sediment. I will sometimes freeze distill mine. Boy does that give it a kick!
So after really cleaning my floors I decided to put this into a carboy haha. Fast forward to a week ago. It was time to add raisins. I did a sample taste and I think NASA wants some to launch the space shuttle next time. I've had moonshine not as hot as this but yet this was sweet and very...
I keep my bucket on top of my refrigerator wrapped in a towel. It stays about 70 up there when the fridge is running.
No it wasn't too hot. I lay parchment paper on a cookie sheet and spread the rice on it evenly. I use a thermometer to check temp. It was 64.8 at the hottest spot. Then I...
Needing some help here. This is my 4th time making rice wine. This stuff doesn't last long at all! The 3 batches before turned out great! This batch isn't doing anything after 4 days. I made a 5lb bag of Jasmine rice and used 6 yeast balls. I've been putting all my batches in small food grade...
Has anyone tried freeze distilling the rice wine? I put mine in the freezer over night. It was slushy by the next night. I put the slush in a blender with spout. The alcohol goes to the bottom and out the spout. I just scoop/scrape the slush off the top. This made some very very strong rice wine.
My jar is a gallon glass jar with screw on metal lid. Got it from Walmart for a couple bucks. I drilled a hole in the lid to install my fermentation lock.
